What happens when the magic of Christmas meets the spookiness of Halloween? You get the Nightmare Before Christmas, of course! This December, I’m bringing that unique blend of eerie and festive to life with a special 13 Days of Nightmare Before Christmas Prompt List.
Why 13 days, you ask? Because it’s the perfect nod to Friday the 13th—and who doesn’t love a little extra spookiness during the holidays? Plus, it’s a great way to keep the creative magic alive as we transition from pumpkin patches to twinkling lights.
Back in November, many of you mentioned wanting Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired artwork, but Inktober took center stage at the time. Now, I’m revisiting this beloved theme, and I’d love for you to join me! Whether you’re an artist, writer, or just a fan of the spooky and whimsical, these prompts are here to spark your imagination.
What’s the Plan?
For 13 days in December, I’ll be using this prompt list to create pieces inspired by the enchanting world of Jack, Sally, Zero, and all the quirky characters we love. Feel free to follow along, create your own work, or simply enjoy the journey as I share each piece.
How to Join the Fun
Want to join me in bringing these prompts to life? Here’s how:
Use the prompts to inspire your own creative projects—whether that’s illustrations, stories, or something else entirely.
Share your work on social media using the hashtag #Hallowmas #NightmareBeforeChristmas @artchicamarcum so we can all connect and celebrate the magic together.
Don’t worry if you can’t do all 13 days—this is all about having fun and enjoying the process!
Why This Theme?
The Nightmare Before Christmas holds a special place in so many of our hearts because it’s a celebration of embracing the unexpected, combining seemingly opposite worlds, and creating something truly magical. It’s a reminder that creativity has no bounds—and that spooky and festive can coexist in the most delightful way.
Thank you so much for your continued support and enthusiasm. Your encouragement keeps my creativity flowing, and I’m so excited to bring this challenge to life with you. Let’s celebrate the hauntingly festive season together!
With spooky cheer and holiday joy,
Michelle
